Gorgeous day after the rains finally left. I was trying to get a shot of the mountains wayyyyyyyyyyyy in the background; the sky was so clear you could see for miles.

At the beginning of the commute, it didn't look so good. But then it ended up taking me half the time as usual! Guess most people decided to stay off the freeway! Thank you!

I took loads, and they all turned out crap.

this is my hero, Steve Martin, playing banjo with a Bluegrass band at the new Club Nokia in Downtown LA, to promote his new cd of (songs HE wrote) bluegrass music. It was so much fun!

Heard some glorious music today, particularly "La Noche de los Mayas", by Revueltas (you can listen to a piece of it HERE... give it a couple minutes for the rhythm section, that's the amazing part!).  I've never seen a conductor bounce up and down to the rhythms, getting the musicians to do MORE!  LOUDER! BIGGER!

And to watch someone in an orchestra 'play' a Conch Shell... it was really fantastic.

These are placed all around the Concert Hall; I think it's a lovely idea.

(interesting - listening to it now, it's not quite as interesting as it was seeing it performed live.  Perhaps obvious, but quite clear to me now!)

Spent a lovely afternoon with mom and dad at Disney Concert Hall with the LA Philharmonic.
Not my first time there, but my first time hearing the organ!!! OMG.

Strauss: Also sprach Zarathustra (aka 2001: A Space Odyssey)
