I'm now the designated photographer for my acting class (they're creating a website). Along with taking photos of the teacher, I was - and am always - mesmerized by watching my friend Jennifer practice on her cello. It's one of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard.

I'm not sure why, but I love the 'feel' of this photo.

Teacher.
One of the MAJOR reasons I missed L.A. When I was homesick, it was usually for this class. He's a rare one.

WARNING - ONE word of profanity is used in this post!

Tried to get a clear pic with my phone cam as that's all I had with me, but this car in front of me today had a very odd license plate frame that I did not get... or understand...

It said:
(top) FUCK YOUR
(bottom) COUCH

Huh?
It was clearly home-made, so I don't know if that's a private joke amongst friends or what. Why someone would put a private joke on a license plate frame, I also do. not. get.

I have been so ill and preoccupied, I've not even had the energy to take photos. How pathetic is that.
Trying to pick it back up again, we have ... slightly unpleasant subject matter, but here's how I spent my morning:
Fortunately, I didn't have to um, get on there.
Unfortunately, I had a nincompoop doctor who didn't listen to me clearly.
Fortunately, my previous test results were in, so I only had to get a copy and LEAVE.
(I've had to go through this to qualify for regular health insurance. Good to be back. :) )

(Yes, I think I'd rather take pics of flowers and landscapes!)

So I failed to photo yesterday.

Here's a "Where's Waldo" photo I took this morning.
Can you spot the grasshopper? (Well, okay, he IS right in the middle - if you click on the photo, he's right there, staring straight at ya).
Those are bad for the garden, correct?
I didn't have the heart/courage to 'remove' him.

Rehearsal before acting class. Trying to figure out the best settings for low indoor lighting without using the flash.
Fairly successful.
*sigh*
All this PROCESS of LEARNING... I just want to KNOW IT ALL NOW!

This is how my day began, and it didn't get a lot better.

This is a little dark, not crispy clear, and a strange angle, but for whatever reason, it's my favorite out of the 50+ I took of these flowers:

Getting to know my new camera is more challenging than I'd thought, so here's a 'plain' shot of (my old roommate) Laura Elizabeth after finishing a song at her birthday party.

My six-year old neighbor Joel, showing off his new art project: a voting box. Though I'm concerned with the legalities, as the top of it says "LET'S VOTE, or donate money, or both, or sign up."He also insisted I vote publicly, which I wasn't too comfortable with; having to choose between a slotted spatula and a spoon. I went with the spoon. After his mom voted, the spoon won.
No Electoral College needed here.

Spent a day in Paradise (Laguna Beach, where I grew up), so I'm cheating again!
Being an usher at the Pageant of the Masters was every high school girl's first summer job. The boys were "Security". Not a high crime area. But a great first job.

NONE of these were color enhanced!

Product placement.
Though I get no compensation.
Must cut down on these.
