Can you HANDLE the cuteness? Again, taken with the iPhone in very dark lighting, so don't click to enlarge, as it's rather grainy.
A friend of a friend, fostering a new mama and her babies... OMG is right. 5 of them. 3 orange/white, 2 grey. TO. DIE. FOR.

My first attempt at bread pudding. SUCCESS! So gorgeous coming out of the oven I had to take a picture. And it tasted just as good as it looked!

Got a nice sunburn watching the Final - on the sidewalk, the place was so crowded (more with Spanish fans than Dutch). I had Dutch flags on my cheeks, and was rooting best I could, but... Spain won. Ah, well. Good match.

Rooting for Uruguay in the 3/4 Place Final - I got mom and dad into it!Apologies for the blur; I thought I'd get more pics, as well as video of mom cheering (and getting upset), but I myself was too involved in the match!

Finally made it to a show at the Long Beach Arts Theatre, a restored landmark.
A lovely place, though I wouldn't see a big blockbuster there. But I did enjoy seeing Joan Rivers' pic. She's inspiring, but I certainly don't envy her!(taken in very dim lighting with my cell; hence the poor quality!)

Made a new friend today. Just a big love. Wish I could take him home.

Grease... is the WORD!

Went to the premiere of the Grease singalong at the Hollywood Bowl with the Tall Girls. FUN FUN FUN. We go to the Sound of Music singalong in September, which is also really fun, but... Grease. Is. My. Movie.
I didn't want to go crazy with costuming, but at least wanted to do something fun; and happily realizing I already owned a pink cardigan, decided to go with dressing up the top half of me, while wearing jeans and trainers (it is the Hollywood Bowl, after all, and I was not going to let painful feet ruin my night). So I thought I'd do my hair up in pin curls, grab some red lipstick and some bubble gum...

What have we learned:
Pin curls are not something to lightly think you can do at noon the day of.
Started out pretty well...
...and then my patience ran out and I reverted to the curling iron.Pretty good, eh? Though I suppose the makeup's a bit heavy, borderlining on drag-queen, so I'll lighten up a bit on that next year (in person it didn't quite look THAT heavy).

304/365 - photo challenge

The theme was 'toys' - but alas, I have none. *sniff* Just so happens my parents cleaned out part of the attic and gave me a box of fairly worthless plastic bits and pieces of what was once some type of dollhouse, of which I have no recollection. Ah well; put this guy to some use before tossing.

Though I did think this one was cuter:
... part of the challenge was creating some sort of ambience, or story. "Horse zombie coming out of Ground" just didn't work right.

Time to say goodbye to the most awesomest girls I've ever taught.

I had a pre-cancerous birthmark removed from my shin here (Hoag Memorial Hospital, Newport Beach) when I was seven. My experience was so awesome, I actually cried when I had to go home (I knew I wouldn't be getting nearly the same amount of attention!).

Restoring an old lamp... figuring out where the shade goes on.

Spotted this well-cared for Chevy on the road today. Reminds me of my grandpa's '55 Chrysler Windsor, which was my first car. At 16, I did not think it was very 'cool', and sadly did not take care of it.
Of course I miss it now!

...instead of paying $15 - take a quick pic with the cell phone!
After the Simpson's ride. My facial expression is pretty clear about how I felt about riding it right after eating. Not recommended. (Noah, Danielle's oldest son, and Danielle, are in the front with me)

Out to lunch with Danielle, Felix, and Zac, visiting from England. Felix being restless and silly.

Gorgeous elk, with horns covered in velvet... wandering all over town, freely.

287/365 ROAD TRIP - Estes Park, CO

My favorite day so far overall - so many pics to choose from, but this... chillaxin at the Stanley Hotel (aka The Overlook Hotel, from The Shining), far from a scary remote place. More like a gorgeous respite overlooking a gorgeous little ski town.
I will return.
(please note the awesome new boots on mah feet!)

283/365 - Road Trip - Taos

Along LaFayette Drive; lots of interesting little galleries and a few museums... where the artist colony pretty much began here in Taos.

280/365- Road Trip - Santa Fe, NM

This place reminds me a lot of Venice Beach - lots of 'interesting' and eclectic folks!

277/365 - Road Trip - Grand Canyon

Walking along the perimeter, on my way back to the room at the end of the day, jus' minding my own business... saw something move out of the corner of my eye... well Helloo!
No one else saw him; he snuck back down after popping up to give me a couple of great shots.

Rex, the wonder dog. This is where he sits, just behind my teacher, at the piano, during my (and everyone else's) voice lessons.
I have never seen an animal so calm while people are warbling so loudly!

Easter Sunday - the Calla Lily cross which is a longtime tradition at my church. They ask people to donate, and were worried they may not have enough this year. I'm happy that about a third of these came from my garden!

From my six year old boyfriend:Ok, so as not to sound creepy...
he's a first grader I've taught since last year, and ever since he won't stop talking about how much he loves me and my class, and how he'll always sign up for drama as long as I'm teaching.
I noticed he was particularly hyper Friday afternoon, along with a few others, so I blamed it on the ice cream ("Ice Cream Fridays" - don't we know by now that's a HORRIBLE idea?!?).. they were bouncing off the walls.
As I was leaving through the school gate, his mom and sister (who's in 3rd grade, and also in my class, but a different one) ran up to me and asked if I could wait a minute. I said "Sure," and they called out for him to come. I noticed by then the mother had a bouquet in her hand... the three of them walked up to me, the sister handed the flowers to her brother, who very proudly handed them to me and said, "These are for YOU!"
I gushed, and said, "WOW, thank you so much! These are beautiful! What are they for?" And both kids together said, "For all your hard work!"

Now if I could just find someone about 40 years older to do the same... :)

And the Oscar goes to...
Not a surprise to me at all.
I just wish Fisher had let Louie speak, as he had some lovely words to say, without getting political. But... there's video all over the internet now with what he (and Ric) have to say, so, I s'pose it's all good.

New front door stain. I like it... mummy thinks it isn't dahrk enough.
