Not sure if I could have chosen a duller subject matter, but, needed to take these for mom's reference.
Floor rot in (fortunately only the one) corner of the bedroom.
But please note the lovely shade of blue with the Venetian Plaster finish on the walls. LOVE IT. I do.

Monday morning at the carwash.Mine's the blonde. Not the redhead. Thought it was a fairly interesting angle. For a carwash.

Selecting ONE was extremely difficult yet again, as I had a FAB day... but as there were way more than three, I've posted one here, and the rest on my regular blog here.Polly, one of my tall gal pals, at Rissa's Birthday Tea Party.

FINALLY a place to sit and have a meal properly. The Breakfast room. There's a set of mugs on the left lower middle shelf, made for Aunt Evelyn, Grandpa (Will), and Grandma (Edith), after my mom had moved out (so no mug for her!).
The tea set on the lower right was my grandma's special chintz china, Made in England, circa 1900.
There used to be a sewing machine over on the left (which is now in the garage and probably will be moved back, but I'd also love to try and get it working again).
I'd found a great picture grandma, taken by Evelyn, sitting at it and mending something, looking very annoyed that Evelyn had interrupted her just to take a photo.
Now of course I can't find those photos, as they're somewhere in a bag in the garage.
I cannot WAIT to get this place properly SORTED!

Had my headshots taken today. While waiting for Matt (photographer) to upload them to disk for me, I noticed an interesting scheme on his coffee table:He admitted he is going through an experimental gum phase.
I should say.

ECU of a art nouveau-y type kitty piggy bank I was given by my coworkers when I left my job at the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT. Get it? Everyone gets a different version when they leave).

Call me a cheater (3 pics), but WHAT. A. FIND. in the garage today...
baby booties. From like, 1930. And a bonnet. Hand made. With strips of cardboard to keep the pleats. And BRAND NEW baby socks. Never worn. AND BRAND NEW BABY SHOES. In the box (slippers kinda). All the shoes are well worn.
And in the bottom left hand corner, yes. The tiniest li'l coin purse you've ever seen. Or at least that I've seen.
You could put mayyyyybe three coins in there. Thassit.

(on the inside of one of the shoes) It says "PAT. AUG 10 (or 18), 1910."
19-bloody-TEN!

I also came across a box of postcards to my grandma from her grandma, circa 1909, telling her she doesn't write enough! And all the address has is a name and a city, and I think two numbers for a postal code.
I forced myself to put it away for now and get the boxes and chairs I went into the garage for!
More trekking for nostalgia to come...

(*you can click on the pics and see the HUGGGGE version for details)

Tried to get Mr. Golfman statue in the center, but attempting to take well-balanced photos while driving = not easy, and not smart.
And of course I'll be trying it again.
Added sepia tone.

Spent all day at home... remembering not all can be organized in a day.

And now here's yet another thing that needs organizing.
*sigh*

Went to a comedy show with Amy... hosted by some guy she thought was cute on myspace. Meh.
The show was in this sort of bizarre theater/speaker room at Park LaBrea - a gated 'community' south of Hollywood that's exorbitantly expensive and just kind of a weird place to have a 'show' generally.

The host... not so good.
The other comics were brilliant. Thank god.
I don't know what's more uncomfortable than being in the audience and watching a comic bomb. Even if you're the comic. At least then you might have the sense to get off the stage. But if you're in the audience, especially when it's theater seating (and not at a table with drinks), you are TRAPPED.

Clearly it's time to clean my lens.

The front door 'peephole' - er, I guess, more like a window.
Thought it was more interesting without the flash.

Not my first time there, but my first time hearing the organ!!! OMG.

Program:
Dvorák: Nocturne in B, Op. 40
Beethoven: Violin Concerto
Strauss: Also sprach Zarathustra (aka 2001: A Space Odyssey)

Limiting myself to 3 today as I was inspired:

The piano my mother learned on. Time for me to start taking lessons!

Put your records on!

(with Helen in mind)
From the Grandma collection... although there are a few that were my mothers. Will clarify. And practice taking cool pictures of cool hats - as there are quite a few!
